3. Cookies
In order to make visiting our website attractive and to enable the use of certain functions, we use so-called cookies on various pages. These are small text files that are stored on your end device. If individual cookies implemented by us also process personal data, the processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR either for the performance of the contract or in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR to safeguard our legitimate interests in the best possible functionality of the website and a customer-friendly and effective design of the page visit.

When you contact us (e.g. via contact form or e-mail), personal data is collected. Which data is collected in the case of a contact form can be seen from the respective contact form. This data is stored and used exclusively for the purpose of answering your request or for contacting you and the associated technical administration. The legal basis for processing the data is our legitimate interest in answering your request in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. If your contact is aimed at concluding a contract, an additional legal basis for processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR. Your data will be deleted after final processing of your inquiry; this is the case if it can be inferred from the circumstances that the matter in question has been conclusively clarified and provided that there are no legal storage obligations to the contrary.
5. Data processing when opening a customer account and for contract processing
In accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, personal data is still collected and processed if you provide it to us for the purpose of performing a contract or when opening a customer account. Which data is collected can be seen from the respective input forms. Your customer account can be deleted at any time and can be done by sending a message to the above address of the controller. We store and use the data you provide for contract processing. After complete processing of the contract or deletion of your customer account, your data will be blocked with regard to tax and commercial retention periods and deleted after expiry of these periods, unless you have expressly consented to further use of your data or further data use permitted by law has been reserved by us, about which we will inform you accordingly below.
6. Use of your data for direct marketing
6.1 Registration for our e-mail newsletter
If you subscribe to our e-mail newsletter, we will regularly send you information about our offers. The only mandatory information for sending the newsletter is your e-mail address. The provision of further data is voluntary and will be used to address you personally. For sending the newsletter, we use the so-called double opt-in procedure. This means that we will only send you an e-mail newsletter if you have expressly confirmed to us that you consent to the sending of newsletters. We will then send you a confirmation e-mail asking you to confirm that you wish to receive newsletters in the future by clicking on a corresponding link.
By activating the confirmation link, you give us your consent to the use of your personal data in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. When you register for the newsletter, we store your IP address entered by the Internet Service Provider (ISP) as well as the date and time of registration in order to be able to trace any possible misuse of your e-mail address at a later date. The data collected by us when registering for the newsletter will be used exclusively for the purpose of promotional communication by means of the newsletter. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link provided in the newsletter or by sending a corresponding message to the controller mentioned at the beginning. After unsubscribing, your e-mail address will be immediately deleted from our newsletter distribution list, unless you have expressly consented to further use of your data or we reserve the right to further data use that is legally permitted and about which we inform you in this statement.
6.2 Sending the e-mail newsletter to existing customers
If you have provided us with your e-mail address when purchasing goods or services, we reserve the right to regularly send you offers for similar goods or services from our range as those already purchased by e-mail. For this, we do not have to obtain separate consent from you in accordance with Section 7 para. 3 UWG (German Act Against Unfair Competition). Data processing in this respect is based solely on our legitimate interest in personalized direct advertising in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. If you initially objected to the use of your e-mail address for this purpose, we will not send you any e-mails. You are entitled to object to the use of your e-mail address for the aforementioned advertising purpose at any time with effect for the future by sending a message to the controller named at the beginning. For this, only transmission costs according to the basic tariffs apply. After receipt of your objection, the use of your e-mail address for advertising purposes will be stopped immediately.
6.3 Newsletter dispatch via Seguno
Our e-mail newsletters are sent via the technical service provider Seguno Software, Inc., 400 W Main St, Suite 205, Durham, NC 27701, USA (https://www.seguno.com/), to whom we transfer your data provided during newsletter registration. This transfer is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR and serves our legitimate interest in using an effective, secure, and user-friendly newsletter system. Please note that your data is usually transferred to a Seguno server in the USA and stored there.
Seguno uses this information to send and statistically evaluate the newsletters on our behalf. For the evaluation, the sent e-mails include so-called web beacons or tracking pixels, which are single-pixel image files stored on our website. This allows us to determine whether a newsletter message has been opened and which links, if any, have been clicked. Technical information is also collected (e.g., time of retrieval, IP address, browser type, and operating system). The data is collected exclusively in pseudonymized form and is not linked to your other personal data; direct personal identifiability is excluded. This data is used exclusively for the statistical analysis of newsletter campaigns. The results of these analyses can be used to better adapt future newsletters to the interests of the recipients.
If you wish to object to data analysis for statistical evaluation purposes, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter.
Furthermore, Seguno may use this data itself in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR on the basis of its own legitimate interest in the needs-based design and optimization of the service as well as for market research purposes, for example, to determine from which countries the recipients come. However, MailChimp does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to write to them themselves or to pass them on to third parties.
To protect your data in the USA, we have concluded a data processing agreement with Seguno ("Data Processing Agreement") based on the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission to enable the transfer of your personal data to Seguno. This data processing agreement can be viewed at the following internet address if you are interested: https://www.seguno.com/terms
Seguno is also certified under the US-European data protection agreement "Privacy Shield" and thus undertakes to comply with EU data protection regulations.
You can view Seguno's privacy policy here: https://www.seguno.com/privacy

Otherwise, for the purpose of delivery in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, we will only pass on the recipient's name and delivery address to DHL. The transfer will only take place insofar as it is necessary for the delivery of the goods. In this case, prior coordination of the delivery date with DHL or delivery notification is not possible.
The consent can be revoked at any time with effect for the future towards the controller named above or towards the transport service provider DHL.

For this purpose, your payment data may be passed on to credit agencies in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR on the basis of PayPal's legitimate interest in determining your solvency. PayPal uses the result of the credit check regarding the statistical probability of payment default for the purpose of deciding on the provision of the respective payment method. The credit check may contain probability values (so-called score values). Insofar as score values are included in the result of the credit check, these are based on a scientifically recognized mathematical-statistical procedure.
