Our soy wax
Let's talk about soy.
The word, perhaps, triggers an ambivalent feeling. However, the wax obtained from soy has, in our eyes, particularly many advantages. We have therefore, during the creation of Just a decent day, dealt with the issue of soy and finally, after a long search, found a dealer we trust. He says quite openly that due to the widespread use of genetically modified soybeans on the market, it is sometimes difficult to obtain the raw material that is guaranteed not to be genetically modified. However, his great effort is always to offer GMO-free soy.
Our soy wax is environmentally friendly, CO2 neutral and 100% biodegradable. No animal products are used and no animal testing was done in its production.
It is pollutant free, so free of pesticides and herbicide residues.
Soy wax is absolutely odorless and long lasting as it burns cooler and slower, increasing the burn time.
Our candles are additive free, they do not contain harmful burning gases/hazardous substances such as petroleum, kerosene or palm oil, no pesticides or herbicides.
Our scents and wicks
Our fragrance compositions come from manufactories in Germany and Greece. Each fragrance is carefully selected by us, dosed and then tested in the studio, with critical noses. What is not good for us, does not come into the assortment.
We have deliberately decided to use only perfume oils and no essential oils.
Our oils are designed so that they can well bear the heat of the melting wax and thereby distribute their fragrance evenly in the room without being penetrating and too dominant.
The size of the container ultimately determines the choice of wick for us.
Our jars made of brown glas come with organic cotton wick, this has a smaller flame than a wooden wick and thus ensures the long shelf life of the scented candle .
The slightly wider jars made of tin, allow more heat and come with the wonderful, crackling wicks made from FSC© certified beech wood. Our wooden wicks are untreated and produced in Europe, by means of sustainable forestry.
Our studio
The heart of Just a decent day is our wax workshop, internally called studio (please do not confuse with waxing studio:)).
In the beautiful southern part of Hannover, we produce scented candles and room sprays. All items are handmade with love.
For us, there is almost nothing more beautiful than to stir the golden yellow, melted soy wax and carefully provide it with the most wonderful scents.
We are very proud of our small, fine and ever-growing assortment and hope that it makes you as happy as it makes us.
We offer our candles in two different containers.
Brown glass and tinplate.
The room spray comes in a small bottle made of brown glass with a fine sprayer.
When the respective product is used up, the containers can be used again and again, for different purposes. Or you can simply send the empty container back to us, we will clean it thoroughly and refill it.
Our responsibility
We use only high quality fragrance oils from natural and synthetic components. They are free from allergens, phthalates, sulfates and parabens. The fragrance oils are vegan and free from animal testing.
We explain what this means in more detail below.
Our fragrances are compliant with the regulations of the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) and undergo regular analysis.
Since imported fragrance-containing goods from countries outside the EU are subject to the regulations of the country of origin, where the health and environmental requirements are often much lower, we only use fragrances from European suppliers.
You will not find the following substances in our products
1. Parabens
Parabens are added to many products as preservatives. Studies suggest they may cause cancer and are linked to hormone disruption.
2. Phthalates
These chemicals have been linked to a variety of medical problems including asthma, cancer and infertility.
3. . sulfates
Sulfates, often derived from environmentally harmful petroleum or palm oil, have been found to irritate the skin, lungs and eyes.
4. Allergens
An allergen is a substance that can cause hypersensitivity reactions (allergic reactions) through mediation of the immune system.
There are no allergens in our products. Otherwise, they would have to be indicated on the label. Do you have questions about a specific allergen? Feel free to contact us, we will help you immediately.
5. Ingredients of animal origin
We ensure that our ingredients do not come from animal origin, nor are they tested on animals.
We attach great importance to short transport routes, as they are for us, along with the choice of ingredients, an essential part of our responsibility on the subject of sustainability. All our suppliers are located in Germany and other European countries. Our soy wax comes from England.
To ensure that the shipping of your order is also climate neutral, we use DHL "GoGreen".
Of course, we send all orders plastic-free, we use only cushioning material and boxes made of recycled paper.
